You’ve probably seen our recognisable polar bear logo on trucks going from town to town across our beautiful country. No surprise if you have – Big Chill Distribution is a nationwide temperature-controlled logistics and cold chain freight carrier, with eleven depots strategically positioned throughout New Zealand.
But it all started with just one truck in 1996. Back then, we called ourselves BOP Cool Transport and we shipped pies between Auckland and Tauranga.
Through a series of successful acquisitions and steady expansion, we rebranded as Big Chill Distribution in 2004. Today, 98% of all our freight is being handled by a Big Chill vehicle – from collection to delivery. So, with virtually no sub-contractors involved, we offer a consistent and reliable premium service through our modern and well-maintained fleet and friendly, customer focused drivers.
From our early days of transporting pies, Big Chill has grown into a trusted provider of chilled and frozen transport and nationwide cold-chain distribution, supporting food and FMCG supply chains across New Zealand.

Food Safety Programme
Big Chill operates a fully HACCP-compliant FSP (Food Safety Programme). Our depots and processes are independently audited & certified by the Ministry for Primary Industries (MPI).
