Dear Customer,
Please note, SH7 Lewis Pass (road between Picton and Christchurch) has closed this afternoon due to Snow and adverse weather conditions.
This will effect all freight traveling on the following routes today (Mon 18th Sep);
Christchurch to Blenheim/Nelson
Blenheim/Nelson to Christchurch
South Island to North Island
North Island to South Island
We expect there will be delays of approximately 1 day on these routes, and there could be further delays tomorrow onwards due to the potential back log created. We will send an update on Tuesday morning (19th Sep) with more information.
Your patience is appreciated whilst we work through the inconvenience this unexpected road closure will cause. Please advise your customers accordingly of these service delays.

Dear Customer,
Following is an update on the SH7 Lewis Pass Road closures.
SH7 is now open and we have made good progress clearing the back log of Interisland freight from Wednesday through Saturday last week.
We expect to have all Thursday 7th / Friday 8th and Saturday 9th Sep freight dispatched from the North Island to the South Island and vice versa delivered by Tuesday the 12th of September in all areas.
Please note with the back log created from the road closures, there will be an impact to our services on all Interisland routes at the beginning of this week. There will be delays of up to 2 days with the deliveries ex North Island to South Island and ex South Island to North Island. This will continue through to Wednesday / Thursday this week. If there are any further road closures on SH7 there could be further delays over and above this.
We apologise for the unavoidable disruption to our Interisland services, and we appreciate your patience as we work through clearing freight.

Please see the following update on the SH7 Lewis Pass continuing intermittent road closures.
SH7 was closed again on Friday night and this morning due to Snow. The road is currently open, however the weather and road conditions are still poor which could result in further road closures. This will continue to effect all Interisland freight from Thursday / Friday and today. Freight transiting between Blenheim Nelson and Christchurch South will also be effected in both directions.
In addition to the back log of Line Haul vehicles we are also conscious of the welfare of our drivers while they work through these challenging conditions. There will be some further delays between shifts as the drivers complete their required legal breaks.
All Interisland freight dispatched on Thursday, Friday and today could be delayed by 3 days into all North and South Island destinations. We are planning to have this freight all delivered by Tuesday the 12th of Sep.
All freight dispatched from Blenheim and Nelson on Thursday, Friday and today for delivery to CHC / South will be delivered on Monday / Tuesday.
We apologise for these unexpected delays and we are doing our best to move the freight as quickly as possible. Please advise your customers accordingly and refrain from requesting ETA’s while we focus on moving the freight.

SH7 Road Closure Update

Further to our notice from yesterday (Thursday 7th Sep), SH7 is now open and the back log of trucks is starting to move both North and South bound through the Lewis Pass between Picton and Christchurch. The Weather conditions are still poor, which means there is a strong possibility the road will close again across the next 24 hours.
At this stage we are aiming to deliver All freight for delivery in CHC / South that was collected in the North Island on Wed 6th Sep, on Saturday the 9th of Sep (providing the receiver is open to accept).
Freight that was collected in the South Island on Wed 6th Sep will be delivered on Saturday the 9th of Sep in Palmerston North / Wellington, and Monday the 11th of Sep for the rest of the North Island.
Interisland freight that is collected on Thu 7th, Fri 8th and Sat 9th Sep will be delivered across Mon 11th and Tue 12th in both the north and south islands.
Please refrain from requesting ETA’s today while we are clearing the back log created by the road closures, and advise your customers of the delays. We hope to be back on normal schedule early next week, and we will send an update if the roads close again today.

Dear Customer
Please note that heavy snow has caused a road closure on the Lewis Pass early this morning (SH7) between Picton and Christchurch. Snow is expected throughout the day which means the road may remain closed today. This means all freight sent from the North Island to the South Island dispatched yesterday (Wednesday 6th Sep) will be delayed for delivery by 1 day. If the road continues to remain closed over the next 24 hours there will be further delays.
All Interisland freight collected today (Thursday 7th Sep) will also be effected by this road closure and will cause delivery delays of 1 to 2 working days.
All freight collected South of Christchurch yesterday (Wednesday 6th Sep) for delivery to Blenheim / Nelson and the North Island will be delayed by 1 to 2 working days.
All freight collected in Christchurch / Blenheim / Nelson today (Thursday 7th Sep) for delivery to the North Island will be delayed by 1 to 2 working days.
All freight collected in Blenheim / Nelson today (Thursday 7th Sep) for delivery to the North Island and Christchurch / South will be delayed by 1 to 2 working days.
Please notify your customers about these delays as soon as possible. We will send an update through with more information on Friday morning.
