Dear Valued Customer
As reported within the media, the tail end of Cyclone Gita is due to make
landfall on Tuesday afternoon between Lower North Island and Upper
South Island.
Whilst Big Chill plan to operate a normal schedule, we may be affected by
the weather system. The Cook Strait is expecting 6-8 meter swells so
ferry cancellations / delays are anticipated.
We will try our upmost to minimise the disruption to our network during
this time and you can expect an update Wednesday morning.

Easter Weekend – Friday 30th March to Monday 2nd April
Thursday 29th March
- All pick-ups and deliveries as normal across the network.
- Linehaul units operate as normal.
Friday 30th March (Good Friday)
- NO deliveries, line haul or collections nationwide.
Saturday 31st March
- Deliveries to ALL centres (inc Gisborne) nationwide. Normal Friday schedule applies.
- Inter-island Line Haul service only operates.
Sunday 1st April
- NO deliveries, line haul or collections nationwide.
Monday 2nd April (Easter Monday)
- NO deliveries nationwide.
- Linehaul units operate as normal.
- Pre-arranged collections only.
Tuesday 3rd April
- All pick-ups and deliveries as normal across the network.
- Linehaul units operate as normal.
ANZAC DAY – Wednesday 25th April
Tuesday 24th April
- All pick-ups and deliveries as normal across the network.
- Inter-island Line Haul service only operates.
Wednesday 25th April (ANZAC DAY)
- No deliveries across the network.
- Line Haul units operate as normal.
- Pre-arranged collections only.
Thursday 26th April
- Return to normal services
ALL pick-ups must be arranged by phone or email no later than a week before the respective Holiday. Please note we are only able to do pick-ups in specific areas on the public holidays, contact your local depot manager for further clarification on this. DO NOT assume regular pick-ups will happen automatically.

- Deliveries to Supermarkets only in Nelson.
- No deliveries to Motueka or Takaka.

Auckland Anniversary – Mon 29th Jan
(Includes Auckland, Northland, Coromandel, Bay of Plenty, Waikato, King Country)
- Supermarket deliveries to the following centres only – Kaitaia, Kerikeri, Kaikohe, Paihia, Dargaville, Whangarei, Auckland, Hamilton, Cambridge, Tauranga, Rotorua, Tokoroa, Taupo, Gisborne, Katikati, Waihi, Whangamata, Whitianga.

Dear Customer,
Due to very heavy Xmas Freight volumes and late running Line Haul units, we will be running approximately 3+ hours later than usual with deliveries across our National Network today (Wed the 20th of Dec).
We expect these delays to continue throughout this week as volumes increase leading into Xmas. Please refrain from requesting any ETA’s before 12pm each day and advise your customers accordingly.
We apologise for the delays and we appreciate your patience at this busy time.

Due to heavy Freight volumes and late running Line Haul units, we will be running approximately 2-3 hours later than usual with deliveries across our National Network today (Wed the 13th of Dec).
We expect these delays to continue throughout this week as volumes increase leading into Xmas. Please refrain from requesting any ETA’s before 12pm each day and advise your customers accordingly.
